I was contacted last week by a George, looking for a 924s Auto which I have one for sale.
He cam access very polite but very green. The first conversation lasted 1.5 hours the longest
I have ever been on a call to sell are a car however losts of questions and sounded very green.
It took me a couple of weeks to get the car out of storage and MOT as he insisted that if he wants it
He will take it. Then his Father called another 1 hour on the phone asking for all service records and telling
Me the mileage had some discrepancy on the HPI check. I explained to hime it was a 35 year old car
In very tidy contention that I have spent over £4k looking after it however Im the 10th owner and have no idea
Of its previous owners and how it is looked after. I spent about 10 hours midweek getting it ready and about 4 hours cleaning.
On Saturday the arrived and seemed very polite. They then proceeded to start the car rev it and holding a rag on the end of the exhaust? After 30 mins we chatted. The Father the nasty one proceeded to tell me my lovely pride an joy needs a full respray, a new stainless exhaust system, and the third HPI they did came back stolen(an HPi is an Hpi) I did an Hpi and tgats not the case. So he offered me £3000 on the asking price of £6000. With the shock of the conversation I said sorry we are miles apart you wont be buying my car. Then some more insults of my car I asked them to leave and said to him if you want a resprayed 924 you need to double your budget to around £10k and you need to stop looking a waisting peoples time at my budget. Well then the abuse came which nearly turned into a fight I asked him 5 times to leave my property, which he didnt.
Please beware that these two are out there and really for a fun leisure hobby there attitude is really not needed in anyones life!

Hi. That is really bad! Whereabouts do you live? Were they local? Sounds like a very weird way to buy a car......

They live in East London and say they have looked at 4 cars in London only.
They also said that there was a car that was sold last week by an online auction conpany that they
Visted and looked at the car. Auto 3 owners done 70,000 miles full service history and sold for £4850
But when I look I cant seem to find it so Im guessing they lied about that so they could justify that my
Car was only worth £3000. I have been looking and now even project cars are asking £2500!

If I have to ask people to leave my property twice I also dial 999 - you never know how things are going to progress but that usually sorts it out.

I also take a photo of whatever vehicle buyers (or tradesmen) arrive in, its not a good start but if you start grumbling about rip-off merchants they usually join in however hypocritical they are.

Wow! Sounds like one of them tv shows, neighbours from hell. This is the third case of aggressive car buyers I have come across in the last week.
I have thought long and hard about how I would sell my car if I was going to and to be honest anything other than the sell section on this forum scares me.
Also all the work you put in to prep the car and also talk with the buyers can amount to literally hours. As you have shown.
Hopefully be better next time you try to sell!
