So this weekend it's new Bilstein front shockers and resto of all the parts.

Next weekend new Mittlemotor Dizzy ..

It's like Christmas :woohoo:

Ricky C has bought one/two dizzy's too. I believe they are going on CGT's. I hope you can find a few extra ponies from it and the engine work done. I need to phone BHP soon to try and book my car in and see how many ponies are in mine. If only work was not flat out!

This weekend I'll be heading to PCGB xmas outing at Bicester. Although the weather doesn't appear to be looking great. At least I have parking permit for the hanger if it is pishing down. I put the lamp pods back on last weekend. My neighbour reckons I should put the roof rack back on and put a decorated xmas tree on the roof. Told him there will only be a skeleton of a tree by the time I reach Bicester. All the deco's and pine needles would have been expelled at motorway+ speeds

What? Another red / white one? These are becoming too common for my liking. It's not a turbo at least.

It is indeed an n\a in alpine white but last winter I vinyl wrapped the bottom as fancied a change but nothing permanent! The original paint work was well treated before and the vinyl comes off fine - had to redo one of the panels this summer.

The double curve on the front spoiler must have been a challenging wrap?

No specific plans for the weekend (and no rain for a change) meant that I had a chance to mess about with the little Porker.

Couple of weeks ago I purchased a 'steering wheel refurbishment kit' from e-bay as a cheap alternative for re-trimming the wheel and a gearbox gaiter:

It's a cleaner, dye and clear varnish (I opted for satin finish). I have to say, that it absolutely exceeded my expectations!
This is the result (don't have the 'before' photo, but the steering wheel was bit manky, and there was significant discolouration on the gearbox knob):

Greetings
Eryk

Did a "santa run", delivering family presents around locations on the mainland.
Took the "S" as it hasn't had a decent run since the summer when it started giving problems and I wanted to see how the engine repairs had worked out.
Isle of Bute to Clydebank via Greenock & Port Glasgow, then Dumbarton, along Loch Lomond, over the "rest and be thankful", Cowal coastal route to Dunoon along the Loch Eck road, then back to the Holy Loch and over the moor road and onwards to the Colintraive ferry, then home.

132 miles on a fantastic mix of urban roads, some town work, fast dual carriageways and motorway, superb A roads twisting and climbing through the glens, a section of very quiet and fast single track moorland road with great visibility.

I had to stop on the Loch Eck road to get some photos....it was absolutely stunning (I couldn't get a safe parking spot on the loch edge, so unfortunately no pics with the car).

The car ran beautifully. The engine work has resulted in a quiet, smooth, powerful motor with seemingly seamless power.
Not all perfect though...the voltage gauge illumination failed and the speedo illumination appears "uneven" (very bright at the top right, relatively moderate everywhere else).

Overall very pleased with the outcome of all the work (the necessary and the unnecessary  ).
Had a great run, seeing people I like and driving some beautiful roads and country.

Have a great Christmas folks

Don

John - your car looks like it sits in excellent company.

Don - I see Scotland is creating perfect watercolour scenes as it does best. Great capture.
