This chap seems to have sold lots of shocks etc yet he suggests that this set is suitable both for the 2.0lt ans the 2.5lt versions of the 924 ??

The model dates in that eBay listing are all to pot

It's interesting that so many sellers incorrectly list them as fitting every year model.
Bilstein manage to get it right with different units for steel and alloy arm models

Did they give you an indication on price?

I thought I'd quickly update this so all the info is one point.
All this information is from the manufacturers direct so hopefully, it's right!

Basically, none of the major manufacturers makes a standard shcok absorber for the S/944. Yes, various versions of adjustables are available but, obviously significantly more expensive than standard.

Sachs have said that it is not financially viable to re-run (they were also a little vague on the future availability of the N/A ones!) and as to the possibility of having the N/A ones re-bushed to fit the S/944, after speaking to their technical department, they have stated that there are technical differences between part no. 984 052 (N/A) and 105 754 (S/944) and as such, are not interchangeable.

The apparent availability of the correct items on eBay appears to be false. This is due to incorrect data held by various companies which supply sites such as eBay. I'm told these companies are aware that the data is incorrect but, fail to rectify for whatever reason?

I've spoken to several of companies direct about re-bushing other shocks with the correct specs but, no one has been able to give me a definative answer. Others may have more luck than me.

I have now bought several 'correct' shocks now, none of which fit.
So, as it stands, I'm waiting for a set of GAZ shocks to arrive for my car which at GBP145.50 appear to be the cheapest sensible option available.

Hopefully this is of some help to others.

Mike I am shocked and sorry to see that this is not resolved yet . If you want, PM me the correct part numbers SACHS and I will ask a big SACHS/MAHLE importer stockist if he has them . I visited his premises yesterday ( impressed as well ) and amongst other things I asked he told me he stocks shocks for older cars including Porsches .
