Ok Folks, all applications submitted, we are now very much on the map (see here under 'T' for The Porsche 924 Owners Club) http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/exhibitor-list

We have been fortunate enough to secure five amazing examples of the 924 as our display vehicles, sincere thanks to the members who have entrusted us with their cars. I'll save the reveal for the day as a nice surprise. The clue is that our display now fits in very nicely with the Show theme of 'Family Values'

As ever we rely on you, our good members to man the stand for the duration, some have already volunteered (thank you) We have a limited supply of exhibitors passes and I will allocate these as fairly as possible. So for at least one of the days you are able to volunteer you will receive a free pass (these are worth £21.50 per day) for which all you need to do is engage with the public and talk enthusiastically about the club and 924s, in other words have a nice natter about cars! Ultimately we're about spreading the word and keeping 924s on the road, also signing up lots of new members in the process! Don't worry, there will be ample time to go off and explore the show .

The Drill

There will be four high stools by the counter as last year, to take the weight off and sign up members; No additional picnic furniture or large parts storage as we're tight on space. Same drill as 2016 in that if you already have a 924 OC logo polo shirt from last year (or other official 924OC branded gear), please bring it along. If not I'll endeavour to provide a polo shirt, black with an embroidered logo, I'll be in touch re your required size. We are right next to Porsche Cars GB as I said, and a stones throw from PCGB, so a professional demeanour behoves us, especially when everyone wants to take our picture!

All that said, it's a very relaxed affair and great fun, so do come along and enjoy yourselves. If you've never been before, there will as always be a curry night on the Saturday evening you are all most welcome to, details to follow.

To start the ball rolling, here's the helper list, Please let me know if you would like to participate on any of the days and I'll try to accommodate and will update the master list as we go, thanks in anticipation.

Thursday 9th November - Exact time TBA but probably starting at 10.00. Collect Build and breakdown passes on site .
The build is fairly simple so apart from positioning cars there are just lightweight displays to unroll and erect, flags to unfurl and cars to polish. The carpet will already be down

And we're full!

The slots I have left are for the remaining display car owners who haven't yet confirmed their days. If after that any become available I'll shout out.
Apologies, where extra passes have been requested for guests I can only provide one for yourself. You are still very welcome to help on the stand but I have no more free passes,

Huge thanks to all of you for volunteering.

Folks,

As soon as the stand helpers wristbands arrive I'll post them out to your home addresses unless you are on site for the build up on Thursday, in which case I'll hand them to you.
Logistically, this is the best way to get them to you rather than trying to meet up with people outside the venue on show days.

I'll use your home addresses as logged on the members register but will check them first with you via pm to ensure still correct.
The face value of these wristbands is up to £30.00 each so they are a valuable commodity and we are strictly limited on supply, in other words, don't lose'em

Listen up folks.

The wristband passes have just arrived :woohoo:

As mentioned I am endeavouring to provide you with a Porsche 924 OC Polo shirt for wear while manning the stand, it looked great when we did it last year, very professional. If according to my records you already have one from last year, a P appears next to you name, if I am misinformed, please shout up. I will PM everyone who are receiving wristbands by post to confirm your address for postage and ask your preferred size of shirt if you need one. Please check your pm's and respond ASAP

They are good quality Fruit of the Loom premium, image attached, black by default with white embroidered logo, other colours available. I'm hoping I'll be able to provide these FOC to you but cannot guarantee it. If this doesn't materialise, lanyards will be provided instead.

To save postage costs, for the following people who are delivering their cars on Thursday 9th, I will hand over your wristbands in person for subsequent access on your chosen days.

For the following people I will send your passes out by Royal Mail 1st Class. Please be sure to PM or e mail me confirming receipt when they arrive

Thanks folks, the next thing I'll be hassling display car owners for is some history on their vehicles (some I already have) to put together the display/information boards for the show.
