For the first time the 924OC has been invited to participate in the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC 23rd-25th March 2018. We will be located on stand 3-535, that's Hall 3. As you probably know this show differs from the Classic Motorshow in that we will be demonstrating live procedures on an unsuspecting 924!

We will be inviting display vehicles and helpers, more detail to follow soon after we've crafted the plan, this post is to give you all as much warning as possible due to the very short lead time until the show and to give you the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets.

You can order tickets here https://necrestorationshow.seetickets.c ... ec/1161450
Use the club discount code on the poster below;

Next steps will be after the committee have met and we've decided exactly what we'll be doing and what we need in terms of cars and helpers. As ever this is very much a joint effort, particularly so with people's commitments, so Mr Events Ed Myland and myself will be getting the show on the road, Ed, myself and Mr Treasurer Chris will do front of house on show days while Mr Chairman Andy and Mr Webmaster Ben have kindly offered to handle the oily bits and spearhead the mechanical demos. Watch out Ed China and Ant Anstead! This should be an interesting one for the club!

It's branded overalls you need, don't see PCGB getting their hands dirty!

There's still something not quite right with my steering... and the rear hatch is probably due for replacement...

Seriously, though, this seems like a good thing to be involved in. Good work!

How's the photoshop of that Grease picture coming along Phil? Like I said before, I'm not coming if there isn't a huge vinyl banner of it, with our faces on in the background...
;-)

Hi Phil and all.

Hope you all had a decent Xmas and New Year.

Restoration show sounds interesting and I am happy to offer my self up as a helper if required over the weekend. Would very like to be involved in some way, happy to wield scanners, fetch tea, whatever is needed.

Appreciating it's not decided what the club will tackle and many owners will have 'cars with needs' but I will offer my my project car for consideration but it may need a little too much work for a weekend?

1986 924S in a project status with following summary (can send pics if of any interest)

Runs, drives and stops but not roadworthy and the following might be suitable for the needs

Needs:
Damage to rear wing pulling out
Removal of front wings, front panel for repair / replacement
Drivers side sill repair at rear
MAF sensor repair (running rich)
Front suspension rebuild (rebuilt struts and new front arms)

My intention is create a 'back date' 924 with an early look but lighter and tuned (target is 1 ton and 170bhp) on a controlled budget

Anyway happy new year to all
Daz
