Having said that, there were 60 licensed and 214 on Sorn in the 3rd Quarter of 2018, so it is possible...

That number includes any CGT and GTS which may be taxed/untaxed as their V5's state 924 turbo. Many of the Sorn'd may not be with us anymore as they are not removed when scrapped/broken up unless the owner sends in the V5's...........I know of two V5's which were not recorded as deceased. There will be many more for sure.

I genuinely believe in the UK the following numbers may be close the to truth ......

924 turbo = upto 50 max that could be driven if required, up to 40max which are SORN'd which could be brought back with time/investment but unlikely this year.
CGT = up to 35 RHD + LHD....Ricky may have a better idea but iirc he suggested this number previously that could be driven if required, 5-10 needing serious investment but unlikely this year
GTS = 3 known, possibly 2-4 more in long term storage/collections, again Ricky is your man

150 or more turbo/CGT/GTS on the SORN'd list will probably never see the tarmac ever again as already deceased, close to deceased or far beyond economical repair living in a lock up, barn or field.

It would need a lot of coaxing of non club members as well as club's known turbos, CGT and GTS to get near 40 of them to turbo 40.........

(was it 25 at turbo 35? Surely we can beat that number at least?)

I thought the reason so many were sorned is that every one who owned one on the road had to keep a couple for spares
