We’re proudly running another stand at the Practical Classics Restoration Show from 22nd - 24th March, at the NEC.

https://www.necrestorationshow.com

This year, as defending champions ;-) , we have Alan’s beautiful CGT as the show car. The demo cars are being kindly donated and worked upon by the Vaughn family and by Phil Pilsworth. Both are NAs and have a list of jobs to demonstrate how practical they are.

I’m also pleased to announce that with the kind support of Bilt Hamber and Poorboys we are also doing a detailing demonstration through the weekend.

https://www.bilthamber.com
https://www.poorboysworld.co.uk

We’re not blessed with many spare tickets this time however we do need some volunteers to help run the stand.

If you’d be willing to spare a few hours to help, can you post below or contact me?

We think there should be a club discount code available too, if there is we will let you know soon.

Thanks everyone!

Just a quick bump.
We have volunteers for Friday but could do with a few more for Saturday and Sunday.

You’ll not be needed all day and, apart from your shift on the stand will be free to explore the great show, as you please.

Just so you know people like me are reading this, but unfortunately I don't have the time to help this year. Also all my funds are going on the turbo!

Best of luck. Just simply doing actual practical demonstrations was more than other stands could cope with last year!

Dear display car owners and helpers

Instructions re load-in, show days and load-out as follows . For Club members providing display cars and helping with the practical demonstrations I will also e mail these details directly to you. We are Stand 3-185

Thursday 21st March; Load-in and Build Day

Our Load-in delivery time is between 10.00 - 11.00 am via VE doors 3.6 or 3.7. (see attached plan) The security staff will direct you to the correct door. Don't panic if you are delayed, they are quite flexible. We have until 22.00 to complete stand set-up but we are usually done by 17.00.

Delivery of stand components, tools etc, (not display cars) Drive your vans and trucks up to North Lorry Park at least an hour before our access time and report to the office portacabin, Give them your stand number 3-185 , they will take a Credit/Debit card swipe and issue you with a vehicle pass and a time slot to match our access time. You will be directed to park adjacent to the nearest VE door to our stand. Please bring a trolley to aid movement of components. Be sure to check back out at the same portacabin and they will not charge your card. This system is simply to discourage people abandoning trucks and vans on site and blocking access, don't worry, it works fine. I will be doing this myself with my A4 full of tools and stand components so we could meet up and go through together.

On entering the hall immediately present to a doorman the signed H & S declaration I will send to you and he will issue you with a build day wristband pass

If you don't have one, I will issue you with a Hi Vis vest which must be worn at all times on site for build and breakdown

Once delivery is complete you can then park your van or truck (if required) in the NEC Lorry Park (this is the long stay lorry park) or in any of the East or South car parks free of charge so long as you clearly display your Vehicle ID Pass in your windscreen during build up. Parking in the NEC Car Parks will be charged during open and you must show your NEC car parking pass in your window.

Display Car delivery
I will post to you in advance a display car pass to place in your screen, you need this to bring your car in.
You are exempt from the traffic deposit system and should simply follow the 'Display vehicle' signs from the main NEC access route and tell security staff where you are headed' Stand 185 Hall 3. They will direct you to the nearest VE door and you may drive onto the stand.
I will meet you all on our stand for the set up and hand you your Exhibitor wristband pass for the duration of the show. If you have any worries or questions on the day my mobile is 07891 138120. I will also be there on Friday then Ed will be there on Saturday and Sunday, I'll return for Load out on Sunday afternoon.

Show Days
Public opening times
Friday 22nd March 10.00am 5.30pm
Saturday 23rd march 9.00am 6.00pm
Sunday 24th March 9.30am 5.00pm

Volunteers and stand staff with exhibitor wristbands are allowed in before the public.
We will publish the volunteer list as soon as it is complete and as usual, I will post your Exhibitor wristband passes to you in advance of the show.

Sunday 24th March; Break-down and Load-out day

Show Closes at 17.30
No movement of cars or components allowed until every last member of the public has left the hall. Please obey the floor managers on this, they bite!

For Vans collecting stand components and tools etc, exactly the same procedure as for Load-in, therefore you will want to be leaving to collect your vehicles about 16.00 .

General
• Display vehicles should not have brimmed tanks, try to have about 1/3 full .
• Batteries must be disconnected
• Do not start engines during the show
• Observe H & S practice particularly with regard to safety (Eye protection during practical demonstrations etc)
• A copy of the Risk Assessment and Method Statement is available now and on the stand.
• We are showcasing our club so Ed and I will try to refrain from spitting, fighting or profanities, could you please do the same

Once again, sincere thanks to all of you for offering your time, energy and your lovely cars, this really couldn't happen without you.

Hi Ed
I can do either day. Saturday is marginally better for me but happy to do Sunday if that works better.

Am sure Trevor (tr55vor) mentioned he had volunteered but not heard anything?
