The Live feed and Earth are both working, but neither the Live nor Earth is getting passed down the struts to feed the HRW. Both the struts look brand new, so it seems strange there appears to be a fault with both. Do I have to bite the bullet and buy a couple of new struts or am I missing something?

Thank you

Are you getting 12v and a good earth at the body end of the struts? There's also a short connecting cable from each strut that disappears inside the pillar.

Some brands of struts are known not to pass current despite having the tabs
