Hello, I'm a new 924 owner, and am yet to get mine started, so am wondering if anyone has any ideas. Both fuel pumps were seized, so I replaced both pumps with an external Bosch 044 pump, as I heard a lot of people have done this with the 924. I can hear the pump running, but no fuel is coming out the other side. I am completely stumped and have no idea how the pump can be 'running' but not pumping any fuel. I would be eternally grateful if anyone can help me with this so I can actually drive my 924.

Stupid questions but is it fitted the right way round? Connections the right way round? One-way valve fitted the right way round? If you disconnect the input hose does water flow out of the tank?

Did you clamp the hoses when fitting the pump? Sometimes they stick shut.

Where are you measuring the fuel when you say "out the other side"?

Are you sure there is fuel in the tank (quite a few of us, especially me, have fallen for that on more than one occasion).

When you say "replaced both pumps", what did you do to the in-tank pump?

Thank you all for your quick replies. I have added a photo of my current set up, but as it can be seen from the photo, the hose from the tank to the pump is fairly long with bends, so I don't know whether this could be an issue with the fuel not being able to get to the pump?

When I got the car, I flushed the fuel tank through and bought £15 worth of new petrol and poured that into the tank so unfortunately it's not a fuel issue

I have taken the hose off directly after the fuel pump, which is how I know no fuel is getting through the pump.

The in tank pump has been completely removed, but I have kept the part that screws into the tank so the hose can still be connected.

As for whether the pump is installed the right way round, I can't say for sure, but I imagine it is, as I installed it the same way round the previous pump was, and the electrical connections wouldn't reach if I was to be installed the other way.

Are the electrical connections the right way round, they shouldn't fit the wrong way round but there might have been a previous bodge and incorrect size connectors fitted.

Should have

Brown wire to the blue on pump (-ve)
Black/green to red on pump (+ve)
