You would think with those prices and rarity value, Porsche Classic would see a profit in remanufacturing these instead of headlamp motor brackets :bang:

Really does not make much sense to buy this, as it is still a 40 year part and could be of a very limited life!! I would understand if there were not the Mittlemotor alternative in their replacement distributor..............

Ebay is full of people trying their luck on 931 parts with crazy prices. I bought a spare sensor for much more reasonable money not that long ago. And a spare ditc box for peanuts. But i also agree it's embarrassing that porsche doesn't solve this.

AFAIK, the problem is it was made for Porsche by a third party (Bosch?) and neither have the required information for the specs of the sensor.

We figured out the specs and construction by our own...and we're monkies...i guess Porsche or Bosch could reverse engineer them if they really tried hard

There are plenty of Chinese/Taiwanese/Indian manufacturers of engine electronics out there, if the details are known surely it couldn't be too difficult....

Did we? I thought it was still shrouded in mystery.

Not really, i have the most important info written in some posts/threads.
Think this is it: https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... or#p196649
I even found a sensor from a BMW that could be made to fit and work.

All this is untested, just measured and theory form my side but there is a chance i'm not too far off, i'd say.
