I've always had a soft spot for the little 914. There wasn't really anything else like it at the time.
I should have bought one when they were cheap
Well Nige, so do I... love the 914 exotic look.
Despite the initial criticism on the 914 in the beginning , now is a soughtful classic Porsche.
Still I do think that the 924 is a better car than the 914. Being the 924 is sucessor that's normal.
Theres nostalgia too. I admired the 914 as a child, and the VW Karman Ghia, whereas I wasn't drawn to the 924, even though it's a superior car. Nostalgia is a powerful emotional stimulant
Yes, nostalgia is a great gasoline for petrolheads.
I am also a big fan of touring cars, mainly because I have seen them race back in the 80's...that was the magic of touring cars back in the days. so close to our daily cars even visually. now when you see a TCR car is so different from our cars.
Touring cars have a legion of fans here to. I see crazy budgets on Escort's...
The case of 914 and 924's values, are mainly related with this particular brand called Porsche and the most difficult entushiasts in the planet...
Something is changing with new generations of Porsche fans I think...
I do love see them all together in a row of friends...waiting to go on a Hillclimb!
That's a cool photo. I like the variety of cars in the background
