So the green one is almost ready to go to MOT after years of neglect... We need a washer pump so I ordered a cheap one off ebay and it didn't work :(
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Best-Universal-Washer-Pump-12-Volt-Front-And-Rear-Windscreen-Wiper-Jet-Pump/351606879250?hash=item51dd673412:g:rGMAAOSwJgBcXq1Y
So basically, should this one have worked? If not, can anybody point me in the right direction as we need this pretty much yesterday... Thanks!

That should have worked, are you getting 12v when the stalk is pulled?

Also check the pump is working by connecting it to your battery.

Have you tried connecting it up directly to the battery terminals Linda with some spare wire just to check there isn't a fault elsewhere?

If the pump is no good then surely Woolie must have a cupboard full of them.

Thanks Ben and Jeremy, are getting the 12V at the plug but didn't think to connect it straight to battery - will ask Leigh to do that tomorrow (car is at his work now).

If you still have the OE pump, get one of these and swap the pump from the bracket supplied onto the OE pump bracket, not difficult. I had one of the aftermarket pumps which you bought worked for a while.

Much the same as the ebay one actually.

Turns out it's not getting the full 12v, when connected to battery the pump itself works. Now a case of finding out what's going on with the electrics and somehow fixing it tomorrow before MOT!

Put it back in circuit and measure the voltages between either side of the pump and ground when it's operating (or trying to). That'll at least point you in the right direction.

Don't bodge it - FIX IT!!
Just because it's on eBay doesn't mean it's a bargain...

If the headlamp wash pump is working, switch the electrical connections on to the screenwash pump

If you can't find the fault in time for the mot you could run a cable from the battery to the pump via a temporary switch in the cabin. As long as it functions it should pass, and once it's through the mot you'll have more time to sort it properly
