This is rather embarrassing.
Did you all know the show is this weekend?
I didn't. I thought the show was next weekend so, I've booked the leave, booked the accommodation and just thought I'd sit down with a cuppa and book the tickets for next weekend!
Am I f#*ked off, oh yes I am. It looks like the aptly named village idiots, are not coming.
However, if anyone requires accommodation for next weekend Comic-con, I can offer you a good rate on accommodation at the premier inn.
I'm now off for a sulk........
Arghh. So frustrating. I'm not sure what information lead you to this mistake. I never had any doubts or confusion as to the date.
It was the other village idiot getting his dates wrong and telling me it was next weekend and me not checking before I booked
I'm seriously hacked off with life this evening. I was really looking forward to this as this was my 'research' for the next project!
There's always a chance you might be "ill" for work on Saturday or Sunday.
No sure that would go down that well as a couple of y colleagues are aware of the cockup!
Also, I now don't have any accommodation and the premier inn won't refund or let me change the date and also, the other village idiot like me, has booked next weekend off and is working this weekend!
I'm sure it will seem funny by next weekend but, at the moment, I'm failing to see the funny side of things!
On a positive note, the stand looks superb and all the cars I wanted to look at are all in one place
Apart from missing the 924's there's also a part restored Series 1 Land Rover on show which apparently is stunning in it's quality. Ah well, maybe next year.......
