Hi all, Happy New Year and wish everyone a great 2019.
Here's my new project to work on, purchased after a late night at the pub
It's a 3 owner 1982 2.0 NA LUX model, came with some paperwork that helped me track down it's history.
First registered in Northern Ireland, and then brought to the UK, sold a couple of times and ended up under a tree for nearly 20 years. Amazing to me after all that time it still starts and drives, but of course needs some work to bring it back to life.

I found some replacement rear seats from.... I think one of the club members - but was wondering about the front seats.
After some research I believe these are the Sports Seat version of the standard 924 seats - the passenger is in good condition - but the drivers seat needs a full repair. I was wondering were these a standard fit - as so far I can only find the non-sports seat version available - does anyone know?
Cheers Adam

Hi and welcome, I'm in North Warwickshire, so not too far away

the sports seats were optional extra for almost all models of Porsche in the 1970/80's, and you have a very rare material, so I guess you will find it difficult to find a matching seat, there are people who can recover them and even sell you replacement covers, Thomas from Werk924 in Germany produces the best ones in original material, he's on here https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/memberli ... ile&u=4157

we usually post sport seats for sale on here

Thanks for help here.. looks like a recover would be the best option for the drivers seat I think then.

Hi looks a decent project, if you buy the seat material from werk924, I use a chap in Evesham who has repaired several of my seats.

OMG same colour/ similar interior as mine!

Except I'm swapping my tweed for leather as my tweed is also ragged!!!

I'm making my own leather seat coverings...

Nice car, yes these cars need some work but they are so much fun and joy to own!

All the best, hope you enjoy your journey

I agree, I like the look of the tweed but my skills are in leather sewing so I'm going ahead with that. If my tweed weren't so battered and stained I'd consider keeping it.

Anyway I have a project thread if you are interested in making my own seat covers, progress is slow though due to my own time limitations. However, the principle would be the same if you were to work in tweed.
