This is amazing. So jealous.

I've always wondered if I could find a way to get my own 08 shunter... a fellow GT6 owner has apart ownership in a warship class I think.

when you don't do regular overhauls! chancing your arm leads to catastrophic failures, the power unit had exceeded its overhaul date by some margin, leg smashed through engine block, whole power unit now scrap. you can also see the liner behind it with the bottom of the skirt smashed off. please note it is not out of mine thankfully

   once the repairs are completed on the bogies, after its derailment, they will need painting again. What is on the outside also is on the inside, so more painting to do!
i do not know how much knowledge you have about these locos, this one spent most of its working life in Scotland along with the rest of the class 26 fleet I am certain if you ever traveled by rail in the 70's 80's you would have been hauled by a class member.

it is very satisfying when I did all the prep and painting. A friend did do a bit of welding for me.
