a few months ago a nice chap turned his nose into my door as I was driving past him.
It was completely his fault, so I went directly to his insurance company and so they paid up for the repair £3k,

While the bodyshop are replacing the drivers door and painting the front are rear wings, it seemed stupid not to go the whole hog.
Work started this week

The screen comes out tomorrow and they will grind out the pegs so we can fit a late flush screen.
A RHD wiper system will also replace the 924s LHD set up. While not really an issue for our shorter drivers and those who don't venture out during crap weather. I have always hated looking though one blind corner of the screen with my right eye.

The aerial hold in the wing will also be welded up, with a roof mounted DAB/FM aerial (doing this on both cars) Not sure whether to mount on the front like Ricky's GTS or rear like the 968

Engine will being coming out so they can do the engine bay, will also give me a chance to clean the block and head .

The Porsche specialist opposite the bodyshop is removing the engine and he has a 924S gearbox with LSD on his shelf that was intended for his old 924S.
Well, it would be rude not to have it

Will also replace torque tube bearings as they are starting to grumble

As Ben says a great opportunity! Looks like it's going to be a fantastic result. Can't wait to see the finished item. Keep the photos coming.

You can’t beat some fresh paint, going to look great.

On the aerial could you go for a later screen mounted option if making the adjustment to 944 style flush fitting ?

couple more pics from today.
Pretty much every panel need some work but then again most cars of this age do

Typical front wing damage by being jacked up without thought

Don't bother with a sticky window mounted dab aerial, they will not give you 100% coverage. Best off going for one that mounts outside of the car, spend around £90. Having had dab in several vehicles over the last 10 years I have learnt the hard way.

My 944 late windscreen has the aerial built-in. Haven't found any reception problems and where we live the signal isn't great
