My classic car worlds collided today - I took the Clan to meet PDC Racing’s Porsche 924 historic racer.

Hopefully you can stomach another ‘non-Porsche’ update.

I have a bit of a thing for bright steering wheels (as those of you who know my old 924 will attest to )...



This strange obsession was brought on by a memorable couple of weeks driving a 1980s C3 Corvette a few years ago.



So the Clan Crusader follows suit...



I also changed the donuts for Lotus racing items - not cheap but with modified bezelled drive shaft flanges will be a much stronger set-up.

It’s the first time for a few years that I’ve actually picked up spanners and got my hands dirty, so I was proud of myself on Saturday night.



A bit of general tidying and an FIA cut off switch / some rewiring done also, so it’s getting there. Just awaiting a bigger carb getting rebuilt then we’ll be back rolling. Can’t wait to drive it again, I love this thing!



I know a few members on here also have Imp based cars, so hopefully the update is of interest.

Actually Chris, they look like the ‘heavy duty’ Lotus ones - are they?

yes full lotus ones, it was after a rally, and I usually change them about every 2 years when I'm competing a lot, they become service items

The arches came with the shell but I have heard Dave Weedon has the moulds. Picture of the interior attached - apologies it isn’t the best quality.

I love the colour and really really love the slotmags (slot mags?) god its been so long I cant remember if its one word or two
