Yes, folks, it's that time of year when I shamelessly copy and paste the details of last years meeting merely changing the dates and weather forecast to let you know it's time for the (sorry I've lost count and previous threads contradict each other so it's either) 9th, 10th or 11th 924 Owners Club Annual Season Opener at the Ace Cafe.

To tempt you and make it worth your while you're guaranteed good company, a great selection of 924s to peruse and some big plates of tasty nosh. And of course the very best of whatever the great British spring weather has to offer.

For a classic car gathering so early in the year it's very well attended, proof that the 'season' for 924s extends well beyond those of other fair weather classic cars. And yes, there are a good number of us that run them all year around, because they're great all year around.

Start time
Turn up from 11am

Parking
We have exclusive forecourt parking in front of the Ace Cafe building, until about 4pm. Ace Cafe provides a Parking Marshal on the gate who will direct you to our bit.

924 failing to proceed?
You are very welcome to join us in your non 924, but you will be directed left to the naughty corner of the car park.

Non members, new members, etc
Please come along and join us, whether you're in a 924 or not. Say hello, make yourself known, and we’ll make you very welcome. The Ace Cafe was my first 924 Owners Club event and it was a great opportunity to meet lots of forum people in ‘real life’, show off the tatty, bodged 924 I’d recently bought, leak some overflowing coolant across the car park and get some expert opinions on issues I was having, including overflowing coolant.

Food/nosh/grub/scran/tuck/nomnoms/nosebag
The food at the Ace is obviously… ACE. Full English and a proper mug of tea for about £6.50 so you won’t go home hungry.

Getting there
Ace Cafe is on the A406 North Circular, which links the M1 with the M40/A40 so is easily accessible from both Motorways and of course the M25.

Address for SatNav: Ace Corner, North Circular Road, London, NW10 7UD

Maps for those of us who like to do it the old fashioned (and of course better) way:

Ace Cafe 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015...

2019 will be our 9th year at the Ace Cafe. Or possibly the 11th or 10th, so most of us know what to expect by now! It's a pleasant surprise just how far members are prepared to travel for this event, and over the last few years we have seen a great turn outs of 20 to 25 924s so when the weather permits it's a good sized club gathering and well worth coming along!

I'm planning on being there. Very disappointed last year when 2 foot of snow stopped me getting off the drive!

Sorry I'm moving home that weekend. I'll probably have packed the car keys under the spare bedding in the box marked "stuff-2".

Last year was a shame the snow prevented so many from attending, especially as Magnus Walker had made the effort to be there.

I'll be making up my plan of attending with it being a 2.5hr each way journey nearer the date based on weather and if my car has its wheels off having a turbo fitted. A great place to meet people and chat 924 no doubt, but I've been there a lot of times over the years. One part of me thinks the same venue each year is great for continuity, especially as the 'season opener', but also one side of me wishes a new venue to keep it fresh and open up to new people or cars that getting into London is potentially a big journey. One suggestion previously was http://caffeineandmachine.com/ as its a little more central. May be a location to add in to the regional events diary for March/April for those that can't make ACE ?
