"Not sure..."?.... OK...when you try to start the car does the tach needle move like 2 cm, if not it would point towards bad ref/speed sensors or DME relay..............http://clarks-garage.com is a whole world of free help.......but it does sound if you have severe water ingress this will be the main source of your problems........keep going......you will get there :grin:

Just wanted to give you an update, fitted new dme relay today and car started first Time. Many thanks for you help.

Glad it's sorted, the DME relay is the one spare you need to carry with you in the glovebox.

I'm having the exact same problem.
The car's been sitting for about 2 weeks under a cover outside in all the rain and snow and frost. When I tried to start it, it turns over but doesnt catch. the rev counter is moving a very small amount, about a needles width. tried a few ideas which didn't work out.
Got two new DME's coming this week (one for spare) and the battery is on charge in the house because I tried a bit too much! :dope: :dope:
Such a shame too. That car has never failed to start on me until now. I should've grown bigger balls and taken it out in the snow!
